The Drink Smile Seminar was held
On July 15, 2025, “Drink Smile Seminar” (Co-hosted by Ogawa Co., Ltd. / Suntory) was held at the Seminar Room of the Sakeology Center, with a lecturer from Suntory Publicity Service Ltd. (SPS). A total of 37 participants, including students and faculty members, attended the event.
The Drink Smile Seminar is an experiential seminar offered by Suntory to organizations, including companies, municipalities, and universities, with the aim of raising awareness of responsible drinking. This was the first time the seminar had been held at a university within Niigata Prefecture.
The seminar consisted of two parts: a “Knowledge Session” and an “Experience Session.”
During the Knowledge Session, participants learned fundamental knowledge about responsible drinking, including proper drinking methods and the mechanisms of intoxication. They also took an “Alcohol Patch Test,” which provides a simple way to understand one’s alcohol tolerance, drawing particular interest.
In the Experience Session, participants experienced the “KAMIAWA” (Creamy Foam), produced by applying ultrasonic vibrations to canned beer. Additionally, they tasted not only alcoholic beverages but also seven types of non-alcoholic beverages, providing an opportunity to deepen their understanding of the diversity of non-alcoholic beverages.
According to the post-seminar survey, 100% of respondents answered with “very satisfied” or “satisfied,” indicating that all participants were satisfied with the seminar.
Furthermore, when asked, “Has your perception of alcohol changed compared to before attending the seminar?”, 88% responded “improved significantly” or “improved,” indicating that the seminar served as an opportunity to enhance a more positive impression of alcohol.
Participants shared comments such as: “I had valuable experiences like tasting comparisons and patch tests,” “The Kami-Awa experience was fascinating,” “I tried various non-alcoholic beverages I wouldn’t normally pick up and discovered they were tastier than I imagined,” “It was a fresh experience tasting non-alcoholic drinks this way for the first time,” and “It was a lot of fun.”
