The 3rd Sakeology Seminar in FY2026, “Sakeology from the Perspective of Outdoor Education” was held

On September 3, 2026, the 3rd Sakeology Seminar in FY2026, “Sakeology from the Perspective of Outdoor Education,” was held.

KAMEOKA Maki Ph.D., Assistant Professor at the Sakeology Center, gave a lecture on her research.

In this seminar, Dr. Kameoka introduced the significance of outdoor education through activities such as nature observation and hands-on learning experiences, highlighting the importance of a “sense of wonder” that fosters curiosity and appreciation for everyday phenomena, as well as the value of multisensory learning.

The seminar also featured a case study of the “Fermentation Discovery! Kids Lab,” held in July 2026. Through hands-on activities, including observing yeast, exploring the aroma of amazake, touching rice koji, and comparing different types of water, participants deepened their understanding of fermentation. The presentation also discussed challenges and opportunities for future educational programs.

The 4th Sakeology Seminar in FY2026 is scheduled for November 2026.

The Sakeology Seminar is open to the faculty members and staff of Niigata University.
