The 5th Sakeology Seminar in FY2023, “Integration of the pathophysiological studies on age-related brain diseases and Sakeology,” was held

On March 18, 2024, the 5th Sakeology Seminar in FY2023, “Integration of the pathophysiological studies on age-related brain diseases and Sakeology,” was held. In the seminar, YAMANAKA Tomoyuki, Ph.D., Associate Professor of Brain Research Institute, Cooperating Faculty Member of Sakeology Center, gave a lecture on his research.

In several age-related brain diseases, α-synuclein is known to be aggregated and deposited in the brain. Dr. Yamanaka introduced his latest research on the relationship between α-synuclein aggregates and the onset of neurodegenerative diseases focusing on the structural polymorphism of α-synuclein aggregates, as well as the possibility of future integrated research on the pathophysiological studies with Sakeology.

 

The 1st Sakeology Seminar in FY2024 is scheduled for May 2024.
*Sakeology Seminar is open to the faculty members and staff of Niigata University.
