The 4th Sakeology Seminar in FY2023, “Strategic utilization of terroir in Japanese sake industry,” was held

On January 15, 2024, the 4th Sakeology Seminar in FY2023, “Strategic utilization of terroir in Japanese sake industry,” was held. In the seminar, TSENG Kuo-Che, Assistant Professor of the Faculty of Economic Sciences, Cooperating Faculty Member of Sakeology Center, gave a lecture on his research.

Mr. Tseng introduced his research findings that used simple tabulation and KH Coder (*1) of newspaper data to elucidate when, how (strategic utilization), and why the term “Terroir,” one of the core concepts in the wine culture, has been used in the sake industry.
