The research conference / the 3rd Sakeology Seminar in FY2023, “Guide to the research of Japanese sake culture: For expanding of the possibility of Sakeology,” was held

On October 14, 2023, the research conference / the 3rd Sakeology Seminar in FY2023, “Guide to the research of Japanese sake culture: For expanding the possibility of Sakeology,” was held.
This seminar was held on-site at the Yujin Memorial Hall in Niigata University School of Medicine, inviting lecturers from within and outside the university.

Dr. HATA Yuki (Specially Appointed Assistant Professor of Sakeology Center, Niigata University) suggested the main direction of the conference. Following her explanation of research history of Japanese sake culture, six researchers from different research fields gave lectures about sake culture.

Dr. ISHIZUKA Chikako (Associate Professor, Niigata University)
“Meaningfulness of Sake from the Perspective of Luxury Studies”

 

After the lectures, Dr. INOSE Chihiro (Associate Professor, Kanazawa University) gave comments on each lecture.

The seminar ended with closing remarks by Dr. YOSHIZAWA.

 

The “Sakeology Seminar” is regularly scheduled only at Niigata University. Still, this time, it was planned as a special one with lecturers from within and outside the university, and was also open to the public.
More than 80 people from inside and outside Niigata Prefecture attended the seminar. After each lecture, various opinions were expressed in the Q&A session.
After the conference, many participants commented, “It was interesting,” “I learned a lot,” and “I thought it would be long, but it passed by like a flash.”
