As one of the programs of the “Sake, Japanese Wine, and Shochu Promotion Project through Industry-Government-Academia Collaboration” implemented by the Japan External Trade Organization, Niigata (JETRO Niigata) (*1), Sake Tasting Seminar for the invited Italian importers was held on March 6 at Sakeology Center.
HIRATA Dai, Ph.D., Vice Director of Sakeology Center gave them a lecture on sake and sake tasting to promote their understanding of sake.
The importers first learned about low materials and brewing process for the sake and specially designated sake in the lecture, and then experienced a comparison of six different kinds of sake and the differences in taste and flavor depending on the temperature and sake cups.

One importer who drank sake for the first time said, “I am pleased to have had this experience.” and “Cold sake is easy to drink, but I think the aroma disappears. I like it best at room temperature. ”
